If you like reading contemporary romance with a cowboy/western theme, my latest release, Second Chances, might be of interest you.
One reader posted a review to Amazon for Second Chances and called it "A Great Redemption Story." She stated:
Most of the characters in this book were really flawed, and I have to tell you that half way through the read I couldn't imagine how this would work out. But this is one skilled author and this was a really satisfying book. She really explores the characters motivations and leads everyone on quite a journey! I particularly enjoyed the character of Sammy Jo, it would have been so easy to turn her into a paper cut villan but I felt sympathetic towards her, which made the relationship between Mike and Jane all the more interesting. I can't wait to read more books by this talented author.

One reader said:
Best romance book as of late! (5 stars)
I think Kristie Leigh Maguire, Author of "Second Chances" has written her BEST BOOK yet! It kept my interest to the very end and I didn't want to put it down when I had to. She had a unique twist that kept the love birds alive with a happy ending, which I loved. Overall, a very well written romance book and entertaining. Thanks for placing this on kindle for all of us to download and enjoy. I'll be looking forward to more books like this from Kristie Leigh Maguire. She is the best!
I am often asked where I get the ideas for my stories. Second Chances came about when a friend of mine read an ad in the classifieds of her local newspaper. The ad read, "Free wedding dress. Worn only once by mistake." I wanted to know the story behind the story. Since I had no way of finding this out, my imagination kicked in and filled in the blanks. Thus Second Chances was born.
Here is the back cover blurb:
"Free wedding dress. Worn only once by mistake." One simple little ad, but it turned the whole world upside down (or perhaps right side up) for not only one couple, but for two couples.
Mike Farley stomped on Jane Porter's heart with his cowboy boots. When he realized he had made the biggest mistake of his life, could he ever get it back the way it should be? Ma Liz Farley and Pa Jim Porter decided they had to do anything they could to make it right. But were they really willing to go "all the way" to accomplish it?
Set in rural Wyoming, Second Chances is a delightful read that will warm your heart as much as the fireplace will warm your cheeks.
I hope you enjoy the read!
Second Chances is also available in paperback. You can purchase it from Amazon.com or ask for it at your local bookstore.

Kristie Leigh Maguire is the author of Second Chances, Affairs of the Heart: Desert Heat and Cabin fever (Collector's Edition) Desert Heat, Cabin Fever, No Lady and Her Tramp (along with co-author Mark Haeuser), Emails from the Edge: The Life of an Expatriate Wife, and From the Far Side of the Sun, and has participated in several anthologies. She was voted Best Up and Coming Author of the Year and her novel Desert Heat was voted Best Romance of the Year by the Affaire de Coeur Magazine. Her novels Cabin Fever and No Lady and Her Tramp were in the Top Ten at the Preditor & Editors Poll. Her novel Affairs of the Heart was an Amazon Number One book in Sensual Romance.
Kristie Leigh Maguire and her husband have lived all over the United States and many foreign countries while following his career. While living in Japan, she found it very difficult to find books to read that were written in English. This situation was intolerable as she was an avid reader and had been known to resort to reading cereal boxes if nothing else was available. Have you ever tried to read a cereal box written in Japanese? It was not a pretty picture. She began writing her own books just to have something to read. Since the romance genre was what she loved to read, that is what she decided to write.

LOVE IN TRANSLATION by Wendy Nelson Tokunaga
LOVE IN TRANSLATION by Wendy Nelson Tokunaga
From the author of Midori by Moonlight comes a tale that will warm the hearts of anyone who’s ever dreamt of finding love and family in an unexpected place...
Stuck. That’s how 33-year-old aspiring singer Celeste Duncan feels, with her deadbeat boyfriend and static career. But then Celeste receives a puzzling phone call and a box full of mysterious family heirlooms, which just might be the first real clue to the identity of the father she never knew. Impulsively, Celeste flies to Japan to search for a long-lost relative who could be able to explain. She stumbles head first into a weird, wonderful world where nothing is quite as it seems—a land with an inexplicable fascination with foreigners, karaoke boxes, and unbearably perky TV stars. With little knowledge of Japanese, Celeste finds a friend in her English-speaking homestay brother, Takuya, and comes to depend on him for all variety of translation, travel and investigatory needs. As they cross the country following a trail after Celeste's family, she discovers she's developing "more-than-sisterly" feelings for him. But with a nosy homestay mom scheming to reunite Takuya with his old girlfriend, and her search growing dimmer, Celeste begins to wonder whether she's made a terrible mistake in coming to Japan. Can Celeste find her true self in this strange land, and discover that love can transcend culture?

SECOND CHANCES
by Kristie Leigh Maguire
Available in Kindle version now from KLM Books
Coming soon in paper back version from Star Publish
Wyoming rancher's daughter Jane Porter has an "understanding" with neighbor Mike Farley. They've had that understanding all their lives, it seems - or at least since they got old enough to realize how boys are different from girls. So why is Jane's widowed father telling her that everyone in their geographically spread out yet closely knit community is talking about Mike's upcoming marriage to a stranger? To red-headed and beautiful Samantha Jo Smith, who met Mike in a bar and who said "yes" so fast that Mike doesn't remember proposing to her?
That's the setup for this delightful novel. It has just enough spice to please author Maguire's established fans, and it's sweet enough to attract a whole new following for her. I read it through in an evening, and felt as if I had spent that evening with "salt of the earth" folk. No wonder Maguire dedicates this book to her parents! I am sure they would both be proud to read it.

About Karen Fenech
My first novel, Unholy Angels, was written over a two-year period and, in part, in some very unlikely places such as line-ups at deli-counters and cash registers, and doctor and dentist waiting rooms. While I was out running errands, I jotted down scenes for the story in a notebook I toted around in my purse, and then typed them up when I returned home.
Writing novels is what I have wanted to do since I was ten-years-old and undertook to write a book based on my beloved Nancy Drew mysteries. As I grew older, I continued to read mysteries but I found that as much as I enjoyed attempting to solve the puzzle, I became enthralled whenever a new development occurred in the romantic relationships of the characters. When I thought of writing Unholy Angels, I knew it would have to be a romance.
Of course, my love of mystery and suspense meant that while my characters were finding love, they would also face life-threatening danger!
I live with my husband Andrew and our daughter Pamela. When I’m not writing, or spending time with my family, you can usually find me curled up with a good book – or out shopping for one.
